A Threat-Based Approach for Defending Networks
Abstract: Most enterprises spend the bulk of their time and energy focused inward—primarily on identifying and reducing vulnerabilities, improving detection capabilities, and strengthening barriers that adversaries must overcome. Such defenses are necessary, but an information assurance strategy that ignores threat intelligence leaves enterprises in a weakened position relative to attackers. This presentation will explore how to operationalize threat intelligence and how it can be used to cue internal defenses in order to improve their effectiveness. It will also discuss how the sharing of threat intelligence can improve defenses across entire infrastructure sectors.
